Goin' Out in Central London
Ah, Central London!! That is definitely one of the most impressive places I've ever been to. It's so alive, full of people, marvelous, huge, diverse, all lit up, dynamic, exciting, spotless (ok, except for Trafalgar Square where everything is messy:), and super fun!!!
Arun was the tour guide for our small group. The rest of the members of the group were Pauli, Kat, Alison, Chris, and I. A bus took us from Richmond U. to Trafalgar square at 7 p.m., and from then on the night was ours!
We started our walk of London with Piccadilly Circus, where we went into an arcade games room and a shopping center. We didn't play on any of the games, but we did go into a candy shop where we bought tons of candy - and I got a jawbreaker just to see what those were. After that we walked to Covent Garden where we had our first meal in an official London bar. Once our stomachs were all filled up (not only with pizza, but also with wine for some ;), we happily strolled over to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben! We took about 50 pics of Big Ben, then jogged back to Trafalgar where we waited for the bus to take us back to campus. At ~1:30 a.m. we were back on campus. It was super fun; we all loved it!! Here are some pics now: (again, no order...)
I couldn't possibly stick that jawbreaker in my mouth... So I ended up licking it for a while and then giving up :)
The guy with his back towards the camera is the first British guy I touched in London (to ask him for matches to light our candle...) ;)
